The Rams entered the millennium sporting the Puma shirts that had become a fan-favourite at the end of the 1990s. The Puma deal would last until 2001 when Derby continued to outsource their kits away from the UK through Italian company Errea.
Spanish manufacturer Joma then replaced Errea in a deal that concluded with the Rams’ promotion to the Premier League in the 2007 Play-Off Final, for which they produced a one-off strip. Derby then donned the three stripes as German giants Adidas became the club’s kit partner for the first time in their history.
